Aðalsteinn Ásberg Sigurðsson (1955) has been equally productive writing fiction as well as music during the last decades.
His first poetry book was published in 1977 and since then he has written 24 poetry books including both translated poems and his own poems. In addition to this, he has written a wide range of children’s books. Within music, he’s most recognised for his children’s music, but also for his contributions to Nordic songwriting and folk music. Aðalsteinn Ásberg has received awards for his work and his books have been translated to several foreign languages. Aside from being a productive artist, he is the co-founder of the literature and music publishing company Dimma.
The most recent works by Aðalstein Ásberg for youth and children are the Dimmu-triology (2014) and the poetry book Kvæðið um Krummaling (“The poem about little Raven”, 2017), with illustrations by Högni Sigurþórsson.
