Rasmus was born in 1965 and lives and works in Copenhagen. He studied Lithography and then Drawing at the Danish Design School and the Academy of Arts in Reykjavík. His drawings are characterized by many details, colors and figures, sometimes surreal, but always with a link to reality. He playfully uses different techniques, details, compositions and character drawings. His books have been published in Sweden, Norway, The Faroe Islands, Germany, Italy, Albania and Chile and he has exhibited in Japan, China, Latvia, Greenland, Mexico, Italy and Slovakia.
In 2016, Rasmus wrote the cartoon series ”Rasmus skriver en Nordisk børnebog” (”Rasmus writes a Nordic children’s book”), a sarcastic and self-critic book in which his alter ego Rasmus reflects on what it takes for a children’s book to be classified as Nordic.
